Brevard's Got Talent Show to be featured during Founders' Day Fair

The Transylvania Heritage Museum will hold its 10th annual Founders' Day Fair on Saturday, September 1st. This year the festivities will be from 12:30-5:00 pm and will include a special  Brevard's Got Talent show. Cash prizes will be awarded, with the top winner getting a cool $150 in honor of Brevard's Sesquicentennial year.

Judges will rate the participants on originality, technical ability, stage presence, and the difficulty of their selection. There will also be an opportunity for the crowd to cast a vote.

Brevard Mayor Jimmy Harris who suggested the event will act as the Master of Ceremonies.

“It will be a lot of fun,” says event organizer Rebecca Suddeth. “Not just for those competing but for all that come to see and cheer them on. It's a great opportunity for people to show off their talents and bring the community together at the same time.”

Although there is no fee to enter, forms must be completed and returned to the Heritage Museum as soon as possible. Entry forms are available at the Transylvania Heritage Museum, Brevard City Hall and online at under EVENTS.  Forms can be dropped off at the Museum, mailed in or emailed to  
Space will be limited so entries will be on a first come, first served basis.

Other Founders' Day activities include vendor booths, crafts demonstrations, children's activities, Mama Bear's Food Truck, bake Sale, moonshine still display, antique fire truck, founding families exhibits and a whole lot more! The Road Apple Ramblers will be the featured music group and will take the stage after the Talent Show winners are announced.

 Founding Fathers Guided Walking Tours will depart from the street at 1:30 and 3:30 pm. No reservations are required and the cost is $5 per person. Payment will be taken in the Museum gift shop.
