Connecting Community, History & Life
The Transylvania Heritage Museum strives to engage the community in the celebration
of its history and introduce our local heritage to those who visit and/or relocate
here. It does this through high quality and diverse exhibits as well as interesting
programs and events.
Beginning May 23, 2009, the Museum will celebrate the ingenuity and tenacity of
the predecessors to today’s businesses with a new theme for the next year, "Living
Off the Land: Economic Impact of Our Natural Resources". Exhibits, photos, artifacts
and special presentations will interpret the amazing variety of endeavors that were
necessary for survival and progress. Topics covered will include the Cherokee and
“Long Hunter” history, Antebellum Days & Tourist Ways, Summer Camps, Enterprises
& Entrepreneurs from logging & tanneries to larger industries, NASA, and much more.

the Museum is to come see for yourself!
